He graduated from the Cinematography Department of the Polish National Film School in Łódź (PWSFTViT)  in 2019. His graduation film as a cinematographer, “The Edge of Town”, directed by Daria Kasperek,  premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival in the international competition. The film went on to win award in Opole, Poznań, and Stuttgart. Their next film, “Equinox”, received awards including at the Gdynia Film Festival and Short Waves Film Festival.
His feature-length documentary debut, “Say Yes / No”, directed by Paweł Hejbudzki, premiered at the international documentary film festival Docs Against Gravity. For another collaboration with Paweł titled “Early Apex”, he received the award for Best Cinematography at the Krakow Film Festival in 2023. He is currently working on several more documentary projects.
In 2022, the AAA video game “Dying Light 2”, for which Michał created cinematography for the cutscenes, was released. The game has sold 40 million copies.
In 2025, he worked as a second unit cinematographer on the feature debut of Agnieszka Zwiefka (with cinematography by Jolanta Dylewska).
In January 2026, he began shooting a feature fiction film "Good Death" co-produced by Japan, Taiwan, and Poland, directed by Atsushi Funahashi. The lead roles include Andrzej Chyra and Eliza Rycembel.
